Upgrading our Computer Infrastructure for High Performance Tasks
After having used Lambda Labs or AWS to rent powerful computing resources, we have decided to upgrade our internal infrastructure to allow in-house prototyping of machine learning algorithms.
After some thorough planning, we decided that it was best to upgrade our existing hardware instead of buying a completely new high performance computer. Hence, this November we have finally ordered and built our new computer code-named “Kant” after the German philosopher Immanuel Kant.
The computer runs on Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS.
The stats are as follows:
- 12th Gen Intel i7-12700K
- 72 Gb memory
- 3.5 Tb of storage
- Nvidia Titan X (Pascal) 12Gb
